FAQ
How much will this cost?
While we do some web design work by the hour,
most projects are based on a carefully figured flat fee. We will provide you with a free estimate (no obligation to buy) after you complete our online form.
How does the payment structure work?
We usually ask for approximately half the balance up front as a retainer fee. The ending balance should be paid just before your website goes live. Although we specialize in making our website's affordable to Marin's small businesses, we can also split the payments into smaller installments if that would help you to better afford our services.
How long does it take?
It usually takes about three weeks to design and develop a new website, but can take longer depending on the complexity of your project.
Can we have a meeting in person about my website?
If you live in the Bay Area, yes. If not, most website's can be easily completed via email and phone. In fact, even many of our local clients prefer email and phone as they don't have to take time out of their busy schedules to meet in person.
What format should My Website files be in?
We usually recommend that you send everything in electronic format via email, or by mail on CD. If this is not possible for you, we can help you convert documents into electronic formats. All text should be submitted in MS Word format. Images should be in gif, jpg, png etc.
What if I don't like the website design?
We will not begin work on the actual web pages until you have signed off on the design. You will have two initial designs to chosen from. After that, you will have two rounds of edits to your chosen design.
At that point, if you're still not happy, you can request additional edits at an hourly rate of $60. But please know that virtually none of our clients over the past ten years have needed additional edits beyond the initial two. Also know that your complete satisfaction in the look of your website is of the utmost importance to us.
How do I update my website?
We can maintain it for you, or we can implement a Content Management System (CMS) and provide you with tutoring.
Can I add more pages onto my website once it’s finished?
If you have a CMS, you can add as many pages as you need. If we are maintaining your site for you, we charge a flat rate for each page.
Do you re-design existing website's?
Of course! We know how quickly design expires on the web.
Should my business have a website, even if it's small, and doesn't sell products online?
Definitely. Nowadays, if you have a business, your customers expect you to have a website. Many consumers now search for information and comparison shop online prior to making a purchase at a local store. If your website looks amateurish, you will lose customers to your competitors who have a professional looking website.
